15 green flags nobody talks about
Everyone can list the red ones. These are the small, quiet signs that someone is genuinely good to be with.

We are all experts in red flags now. We can spot a love-bomber at forty paces and recite the signs of an avoidant in our sleep. Which is useful, but it can leave you scanning every date for danger and missing what's good.
So here's the other list. None of these are grand gestures. They're small, ordinary habits, and they tell you far more about a person than flowers ever will.
1.They're nice to people who can't do anything for them
Watch how they treat the waiter, the bus driver, the person who gets their order wrong. That's how they'll treat you once the shine wears off.
2.They text "home safe?" without being asked
Small, unglamorous, and a sign that they think about you when you're not in the room.
3.They remember the boring details
Your sister's name. That you hate coriander. The meeting you were dreading on Thursday, and they ask how it went.
4.They can say "I was wrong" without a speech
No twenty-minute defence, no "sorry you feel that way." Just "you're right, I'm sorry, I'll do better."
5.Their friends are nice, and they've had them for years
Long friendships mean they know how to keep people. Kind friends mean they choose well.
6.They're the same person in a group
No sudden coolness in front of their mates, no performing. You don't have to wonder which version you'll get.
7.They make plans, and keep them
"Let's do Saturday" turns into an actual Saturday. Reliability is wildly underrated, and very sexy.
8.They ask follow-up questions
Not just "how was your day?" but "wait, what did she say after that?" Curiosity is a form of care.
9.They respect a no the first time
To a second drink, to a plan, to anything. No sulking, no negotiating. This one matters more than it sounds.
10.They talk kindly about their exes
Not glowingly, just fairly. "It didn't work, we wanted different things" is a far better sign than "she was crazy."
11.They have a life you'd like to join
Hobbies, friends, things they're excited about. You want to be added to someone's life, not to become it.
12.They notice when you're quiet
And ask, gently, without making it a big deal.
13.They're happy for you
Your promotion, your new haircut, your night out without them. No competing, no sulking. Just "that's brilliant."
14.Conflict doesn't feel frightening
You can disagree and still feel safe. You know the argument will end, and that you'll still like each other afterwards. (More on that in how to fight fair.)
15.You feel more like yourself
Not more anxious, not more careful. More you. That's the biggest green flag of all.
"The one that gets me: he notices I'm cold before I do and just hands over his jacket. No speech. That's it, I'm gone."
"When she asks about my day and then actually remembers it the next day. Most people don't listen that closely. It makes me feel seen."
Bottom line
Red flags tell you who to avoid. Green flags tell you who to keep. Start counting the small ones.
