About the Love Desk
Frank, warm advice on dating, relationships and sex, from both sides, plus the romance novels we can't stop recommending.
Both sides, every time
Most advice is written to one side about the other. We ask every question twice: what does she want, and what does he want? Then we put the answers side by side, because most misunderstandings in love come from two people being sure the other one thinks the way they do.
What we believe
- Wanting things is normal. No shame about desire, fantasies or the "wrong" type.
- Fantasy and real life are different, and that's fine. Love the possessive book boyfriend; don't date him.
- Say it plainly. Clear words beat games and decoding, every time.
How it's made
Our articles are written with the help of AI tools, then researched, checked and edited by the editorial team. Health, consent and contraception facts are linked to their sources (such as the NHS, Planned Parenthood, the CDC or peer-reviewed studies), or left out. The "her side" and "his side" lines are typical thoughts, written to show a point of view, not quotes from real people. We're an editorial team, not therapists or doctors: our advice is for adults and isn't professional or medical advice.
The reading list
Every book we recommend is one we've read. Spice ratings are out of five and are our own judgement. Book links go to Amazon, and some are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate, The Love Desk earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. A commission never decides what we pick.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated note at the bottom of the article.
